Camden and a Bathroom Makeover-Wilcox Edition

Congratulations Chelsea and Rhet on your healthy new baby boy, Camden Briggs Rowley!!! We love you!!!

This is Camden.  Their precious little angel.

While Chels and Rhet were in the hospital with Cam- Jake, my mom, and myself stayed at their house with Kyler.

If someone could promise me I'd have a kid as cute and smart and Ky, I'd have one tomorrow!

 Ky turns 2 next week! But anyways, after a little eye infection scare with Cam this weekend we are glad he is doing better and hopefully he'll get to go home tomorrow and celebrate his big brother's birthday!

Jake and I visited the Rowleys a few weeks before Cam was born and we discussed redoing their bathroom. I have been following many different blogs and I've been wanting to experiment with painting cabinets, so while Chels and Rhet were at the hospital, Jake and I got out some paint and paint brushes and went to work. On Saturday I painted all the walls white while Jake did homework. It was a lot of work since I had to put it on really thick over that dark red, but I got it done. Once that was finished we went up to the hospital to visit everyone and then we got home and it was back to work. We finished the whole makeover in a day... and they were very surprised when they got home!!

They have hated this bathroom for 2 years...

We wanted to brighten up the room a bit.

The old cabinets were stained and faded.

The new cabinets look awesome!

 This was Jake's design and I love how they turned out!!

We had a ton of fun experimenting with this bathroom and I can't believe how much of a difference it makes!
A special thanks must go out to my Mom for buying all the matching accessories- the bathroom turned out perfect! 

R Mountain

I have lived in Rexburg for 3 years and I have never hiked R Mountain. (It is considered an active volcano but it hasn't erupted in thousands of years-so I'm not too worried about it.) Anyways, I am appreciative of the few warm days we've had and when Jake and I know it's going to be nice outside we plan something fun and active to do outside. Now if it would just stay warm, maybe my body would stop storing up fat for the winter... haha.

Nothing beats a nice Spring day in Idaho. The sunsets are amazing in Rexburg.

Furniture Update

First before I write about the furniture, I just want to say some of Erica and Nate's wedding pictures are up on their facebooks and they are worth a few minutes to look at!!!! Love you guys.
(p.s. it was windy and my dress kept creeping up... it was not my intention to look like a hooch at my sister's wedding!)

Now to the furniture. Here's a quick peek at what we've been doing lately:

These were the day we first started the laundry basket dressers 

This is the finished product... well after this was taken another coat of paint was added
and three laundry baskets will be inserted into them. It is being debated whether it needs a gloss finish.. 

I am personally very proud of this coat rack because it was the first project I did by myself. Jake
put the legs on it but I did all the cuts, pocket hole drilling, gluing, and wood filling for the tree branches

This will be painted black this weekend and future ones will be stained.

One chair down, one to go! I think these pieces are awesome considering
we have never made anything like this before!

They will also see a stain and polyurethane finish!

This is just a side note picture. We did not make these but I did reupholster them and paint them.

It is perfect!!! :)
Well... not perfect... so it's going to Kyler next week. haha.

Bistro Table #1

So we're sticking to making at least one piece a week until we actually get accepted to the Farmer's Market so here is our Bistro Set Table. Chairs will come next week! 

The chairs will be closer to where Jake is sitting. I just grabbed a stool for the picture. And it's a pretty sturdy table... I sat on it just to make sure! I can't say the same for the collapsible ones I saw at TJMaxx the other day that they were selling for $100.00 though. So hopefully I can sell mine for around the same :)

Prepping for the Market

I'm sending those positive vibes out into the universe again by telling myself we WILL get accepted to sell at the Farmer's Market! We found a great deal on a 10x10 canopy which is required for all sellers. At Big 5 they usually sell for $129.99 but they were on sale last week and I had a $10 off coupon, so we purchased our canopy for $60.00. I thought it was a pretty sweet deal... and apparently the sales clerk did too because when I asked him where they were located in the store he asked me how many I wanted. This is what it looks like: This is not my picture.. I stole the image from Google.

We'll find out if we made the cut May 31st.... cross your fingers!

It's the Final Fourth...

Four blogs today- but this is the last one. Yesterday Jake and I got started on making some furniture for the Farmer's Market. We're hoping to sell some pieces during the summer months of the market, but we still have to have our application accepted. Anyways, yesterday we tackled a Laundry Basket Dresser.We still need to add a backing, paint, and buy laundry baskets, but I think they will be cool when they are done!

We started the projects outside since the garage is being remodeled, but it was so windy we had to stand inside.

Snowboarding

Spring is here, which means it's time to go SNOWBOARDING! That's right, Kelly Canyon is just around 10 miles from Blaine and Shari's house and it is closed for the season, which means free snowboarding! It was 60 degrees here the other day (extremely windy, but we take what we can get!), but up the mountain there is still snow. I've only attempted snowboarding once when I was 18, so Jake and I grabbed some boards and hit the slopes! Jake has been snowboarding for years so he's a pretty good teacher. I'm no pro, but maybe I would've learned a little faster if I wasn't exhausted from hiking up the hill!! Now I believe a lift ticket is worth every penny!

 I'm a little sore from falling and pulling myself back up, but I finally got to use my snowpants outside of walking in Jake's backyard.
